Summary
From the 29th of January to the 9th of February 2001 a number of essential training days took place
during the first of this years "EAGLES" Exercises, namely EAGLES FLIGHT 01. The Exercise consisted of the following:
Up to 1,800 soldiers, 400 wheeled vehicles and 40 Lynx and Gazelle helicopters from 16 Air Assault Brigade.
The RAF support was called for in the form of 3 Chinook and 2 Puma helicopters, 2 off C130 Hercules aircraft
and 2 Jaguar aircraft.
Exercise EAGLES FLIGHT 01 mainly took place on Salisbury Plain Training Area (SPTA) with Keevil DZ, Hullavington camp,
Barton Stacey, Chivenor camp and Castlemartin Training Area and Pembury Ranges in South Wales also used.
